Different LED Options to Fit Your Necessities
There are many options for LED Strip Lighting available for your home and business indoors and outdoors. If you’re not familiar with LED strip products, it could be a daunting task to select what will work best for you. SIRS-E is here to help guide you in the right direction and hopefully this blog will be a great resource.
3528 Vs 5050 LEDs
Often times, customers will call us with questions regarding what the differences of the 3528 LED strip and the 5050 LED strip are. The differences between the two are the actual sizes of the LED’s. 3528 stands for 3.5mm by 2.8mm and 5050 stands for 5.0mm by 5.0mm. The reason why we have a smaller LED on one version of our strips is because you may have a very tight surface area where the 5050 LED strip (the bigger version) won’t fit. The brightness between the two is comparable, the 3528’s smaller diameter emits almost the same brightness as the 5050 LED.
Double Density or Single Density LED Strips?
What’s the difference between double density and single density LED strips? Simply put double density means double the LED’s per roll. For example; the 3528 double density LED strip has 600 LED’s per roll as opposed to only having 300 LED’s on the single density strip. The double density 5050 LED strip has 300 LED’s per roll, but remember these are bigger LED’s. The single density 5050 LED strip has 150 LED’s per roll.
Waterproof or Non-Waterproof LED Strips?
If you have an installation that is going to be outside amongst mother nature’s elements. Or if you live near the ocean, then you might want to consider our waterproof LED strips. It is highly recommended to use our waterproof LED strips in any area that water or any liquids may come in contact with the strip. For any lighting within your home or business that’s not near any water source you can use the non-waterproof version.
